Shakira in Bucharest

After the concert in 2006 Shakira came back tonight. In the opening a Romanian singer, Smiley.
"Good evening Bucharest"
All the media announced a number of 20.000 fans and I can say I saw (and hear), besides Romanians, Indians, French, Russians, English.

"The Sun Comes Out World Tour (Sale el Sol World Tour)" is the name of Shakira's tour and after performing in Budapest on May 5th, the artist arrived at Bucharest just before concert. The tour is in support of her sixth and seventh studio albums, She Wolf and Sale El Sol.
In Bucharest it rained cats and dogs and some fans got upset because the artist didn't start at 9pm as scheduled and left; but other fans resisted the heavy shower and cold from outside and Shakira thank them and telling them "I am all yours tonight". At one point the artist told and asked the audience to allow her to take her boots because it is cold in Bucharest, after performing in barefoot in the beginning on the wet stage (which the stuff had to towel before every song because of the heavy rain). But the cold didn't stop Shakira to remain at one point only in her bra, getting rid of thw top she was wearing. The show was making people jump and dance and sing as much as the cold did. At one moment Shakira came forward and asked for two people to come on the stage with her. The lucky ones were two girls Madalina and Julia who Shakira showed some belly moves and dances for few seconds on stage along with the artist.

Among the songs Shakira sing tonight were: Loca, Waka waka, Ojos asi, but also older songs, Gypsy, Whenever wherever, including Nothing else matters of Metallica. And also had a belly dancing moment on Arabic drums which warmed up the audience. You can see more videos from the concert in Bucharest on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-sun-comes-out/128317880561854 or youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZQNqTNLjvA
After coming on stage 21 minutes late Shakira did a wonderful show, too bad the sound man didn't allow the audience to fully enjoy her voice, the music being louder than her voice.

In the end...which by the way came too soon for all the fans rained down the skin, Shakira said "see you next time Bucharest", it was 10:56 pm. But the fans kept on screaming so the artist came back on stage and performed two more songs. Confetti flew over the public because they had the wonderful idea of placing the machines on the towers used to sustain the lights and cameras...so the plaza air filled with confetti.
When the concert was finally over, 11:10pm, lightnings and thunders started to disturb the sky.

So, a bientot Shakira.

A beautiful love story rising from a disaster

Japan suffers for a week now from an awful quake and tsunami devastation and this days a nuclear crisis it is closer than ever.
In all this sad and untamed chain of bad things happening a beautiful love story rises. You can see it as it was discovered and told by CNN:

God be with Japan and Japanese people everything to end soon and with no more disasters.

Silence

By me

Silence...
Deep and perverse silence,
Late in the night,
Up in the sky,
Among the stars...
Only...Silence

In the sea,
In people,
In books,
In the cupboards,
In everything around...
Silence.

What is she hiding?
or maybe she wants to say something...
Silence...
You burn my heart,
You dry my soul,
You disintegrate me...
Silence
Do you hear me...?
I am talking to you, Silence!

DROWSY BIRDS

by Mihai Eminescu

Drowsy birds at even gliding,
Round about their nests alight,
In among the branches hiding . . .
Dear, good night!

Silence through the forest creeping,
Lullaby the river sighs;
In the garden flowers sleeping. . .
Shut your eyes!

Glides the swan among the rushes
To its rest where moonlight gleams,
And the angels' whisper hushes. . .
Peaceful dreams!

O'er the sky stars without number,
On the earth a silver light;
All is harmony and slumber . . .
Dear, good night!

English version by Corneliu M. Popescu

Moonlight
By Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

As a pale phantom with a lamp
Ascends some ruined haunted stair,
So glides the moon along the damp
Mysterious chambers of the air.

Now hidden in cloud, and now revealed,
As if this phantom, full of pain,
Were by the crumbling walls concealed,
And at the windows seen again.

Until at last, serene and proud
In all the splendour of her light,
She walks the terraces of cloud,
Supreme as Empress of the Night.

I look, but recognize no more
Objects familiar to my view;
The very pathway to my door
Is an enchanted avenue.

All things are changed. One mass of shade,
The elm-trees drop their curtains down;
By palace, park, and colonnade
I walk as in a foreign town.

The very ground beneath my feet
Is clothed with a diviner air;
White marble paves the silent street
And glimmers in the empty square.

Illusion! Underneath there lies
The common life of everyday;
Only the spirit glorifies
With its own tints the sober grey.

In vain we look, in vain uplift
Our eyes to heaven, if we are blind;
We see but what we have the gift
Of seeing; what we bring we find.

In my sky at Twilight

by Pablo Neruda

In my sky at twilight you are like a cloud
and your form and colour are the way I love them.
You are mine, mine, woman with sweet lips
and in your life my infinite dreams live.

The lamp of my soul dyes your feet,
the sour wine is sweeter on your lips,
oh reaper of my evening song,
how solitary dreams believe you to be mine!

You are mine, mine, I go shouting it to the afternoon's
wind, and the wind hauls on my widowed voice.
Huntress of the depth of my eyes, your plunder
stills your nocturnal regard as though it were water.

You are taken in the net of my music, my love,
and my nets of music are wide as the sky.
My soul is born on the shore of your eyes of mourning.
In your eyes of mourning the land of dreams begin.

LA LUNA ASOMA

Cuando sale la luna
se pierden las campanas
y aparecen las sendas
impenetrables.
Cuando sale la luna,
el mar cubre la tierra
y el corazón se siente
isla en el infinito.
Nadie come naranjas
bajo la luna llena.
Es preciso comer
fruta verde y helada.
Cuando sale la luna
de cien rostros iguales,
la moneda de plata
solloza en el bolsillo.

Today I remembered this poem that touched my soul in the past...

In time you learn

by Jorge Luis Borges

After a while you learn the subtle difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul,

And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
And company doesn't mean security.

And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
And presents aren't promises,

And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes open
With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child,

And you learn to build all your roads on today
Because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans
And futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.

After a while you learn...
That even sunshine burns if you get too much.

So you plant your garden and decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.

And you learn that you really can endure...

That you really are strong

that you really are valuable,
man and learn and learn ...
and learn every day

With time you learn that if u like to stay with
someone that gives you a good future,
means that sooner or later you will want to go back to the past.

With time you understand that only one who is able to love you with your faults
without trying to change you,
can bring all the happiness you want.
You realize that you're time with this person just to accompany your loneliness,
inexorably you get to not want to see.

With time you understand that true friends are counted,
and as one who does not fight for them
sooner or later will be seen surrounded by false friends.

With time you learn that words said in a moment of anger,
the rest of your life may continue to harm the injured.

With time you learn that the excuse is something anyone can do,
but forget that, it's something that just really big hearts can do.

With time you understand that if you seriously hurt a friend
it is very likely that his friendship will never be at the same intensity.

In time you realize that although
You can be happy with your friends,
one day you will cry
after those you have let them go.

In time you realize that every experience lived with each being,
will never happen again.

In time you realize who humiliate and despise a human being
sooner or later will suffer the same
humiliation and contempt, but multiplied square.

With time you hurry or forcing things to happen,
This will result in finally
they will not be as expected.

In time you realize that in reality
was not the best future
but when you are living right at the moment.

With time you will see that although you feel happy with who you are circumcised,
you will miss the ones who were with you yesterday
and went and now they are no longer ...

With time you will learn that trying to forgive or
apologize,
say you love, you mean you miss,
to say that you need
to say that you want to be friend
before a grave
doesn't make any sense.

But unfortunately,
just in time you learn all ...

What is happening to our sun?

Scientists say sunspots come and go but in the last two years they are mostly gone and it is unusual. David Hathaway, a physicist at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. says "This is solar behavior we haven't seen in living memory"

It is think that missing sunspots and other phenomenons indicates that the sun's magnetic activity is diminishing. All together it seems that something huge is happening inside the sun.

What is happening?

A wonderful breathtaking concert

Sir Elton John gave an amazing 2and a half hours concert in Bucharest, Romania

Sir Elton John and his band World Tour 2010 arrived to Bucharest after four other concerts in Poland, Serbia, Hungary and Czech Republic.
In the opening a Romanian band performed, VH2, warming up the people gathered in Constitution's Square in front of the second largest building in the world People's House.
A little bit after eight o'clock Sir Elton John and His Band started the show that kept people on applauding and dancing for two and a half hours. The show was supposed to go for two hours with a half an hour break, but Sir Elton John felt so good with the public in the square that he continued to sing a piano solo for few minutes when his band took a short break.
The piano, Sir Elton's voice, the drums, the guitars, the lights...everything was in perfect harmony and spread such a joy that can hardly be described in words. Everywhere you could look in the Constitution's Square, Bucharest people where all a smile and this is what Sir Elton John and the whole band felt and received and made them perform with smile faces and enjoy every minute they spent in Romania.
At one moment Sir Elton John said to people "Thank you for your warm applause". In fact, after every song he was smiling and thanking people for their applause and joy.
When "Sacrifice" first piano accords spreads into the square the public burst into applause and screams and light the lights and wave their hands.
Davey Johnstone, the guitarist, gave people few of his guitar picks to the fans.

Davey Johnstone the guitarist

Sir Elton John offered two autographs and received a large bouquet of red roses at the end of the great performance he had in Bucharest.
"Your Song", "Sorry seems the hardest word", "Something about the way you look tonight", "Rocket man", "I'm still standing"...and many more flew in the air and the piano seemed charmed by the artist magic fingers along with the rest of the instruments in a perfect harmony making people sing along and dance and feel every vibe.

Bucharest public

When the end came people started to shout "Elton, Elton" and the artist came back on the stage and performed three more songs with lot of joy. At one moment he even jumped on top of the piano smiling and applauding with the crowed.
Sir Elton John was for his second time in Bucharest. His first concert happened in June 2003 and I have the feeling after Saturday night he will come back for sure some time in the future.
Until then...everyone and each of the persons that have been in the square has the memory of the great emotions he/she/they lived during the wonderful performance of the one and only Sir Elton John.

Big smile and open arms to embrace the public in Bucharest

"Love, health and happiness. God bless you" said Sir Elton John in the end to the public which gave him the energy to go on singing without break.

THE TALE OF THE FOREST by M.Eminescu

THE TALE OF THE FOREST

Mighty emperor is the forest,
High dominion does he wield,
And a thousand races prosper
'Neath the shelter of his shield.

The moon, the sun and Lucifer
Do round his kingdom ever sphere;
While lords and ladies of his court
Are of the noble race of deer.

Hares, his heralds and his postmen,
Carry rapidly his mails;
Birds his orchestra composing,
Springs that tell him thousand tales.

Midst the flowers that grow in shadow
By the streams and in the grass,
Bees in golden clouds are swarming,
Ants in mighty armies pass ...

Come, let us again be children
In the woods we loved of yore
So that life, and luck, and loving
Seem a game and nothing more.

For I feel that mother nature
All her wisdom did employ
But to raise you over living
And of life to make your toy.

You and I away shall wander
Quite alone where no one goes,
And we'll lie beside the water
Where the flowering lime-tree grows.

As we slumber, on our bodies
Will the lime its petals lay,
While in sleep, sweet distant bagpipes
We will hear some shepherd play.

Hear so much, and closer clinging,
Heart to heart in lover's wise,
Hear the emperor call his council
And his ministers advise.

Through the silver spreading branches
Will the moon the stream enlace,
And around us slowly gather
Courtiers of many a race.

Horses proud, as white as wave crests,
Many-branching horned stags,
Bulls with stars upon their fore heads,
Chamois from the mountain crags.

And the lime-tree they will question
Who we are; and stand and wonder,
While our host will softly answer
Parting wide his boughs asunder:

"Look, o look how they are dreaming
Dreams that in the forest grow;
Like the children of some legend
Do they love each other so".

We wanted to reach that top at Lacul Roshu and we did :)

Lacul Roshu is a natural storage lake at 980 m altitude, near Bicaz, at approximately 26 km from Gheorgheni city (Harghita County), on the national road 12C, in the resort with the same name.
The lake has the form of letter "L". It's about 10 m deep and has 2830 m circumference.

The lake was formed in the summer of 1837 when, after some abundant rains, a great quantity of rocks and debris slided from the Northern side of the Killer Rock, blocking the Bicajel river. The water have accumulated and formed a natural storage lake. The magic of the lake is amplified by a lot of truncks of the old fir trees, which come out from the water passing through the image of Little Suhard mountain reflected in the lake's water. The name Lacu Rosu - Red Lake - comes from the reddish alluvial soil brought in the lake by its main tributary rivers. The lake is unfortunately in danger because of the great quantity of alluviaal transported by the same tributary rivers: Rosu, Licas, Oii (sheep's river), Suhard and Ghilcos (Killer).
The local tradition keeps two legends about the lake origin:

It is said that in old times, in Lazarea village, was living a very beautiful girl with the name Estera. One day she went to the fair in Gheorgheni. Here she met a handsome and strong lad, so strong that he was able to fight with a bear. They fell in love immediately and the lad asked her to be his bride. But the wedding did not take place because the lad was taken to army. The girl waited for him. In the evenings, when she went for water to the spring, she sang so sad that even the mountains were touched. In a Sunday afternoon Estera was seen by a thief. The thief lifted her and ran away as quickly as he could, up on the Little Suhard mountain were he was living. He promised Estera gold and silver only to love him, but the girl didn't want to hear that. The thief lost his patience and forced her to marry him. He cried to the mountains, begging for help. A big rain with thunders and lightnings had started, wiping off all in its way and a part of the mountain came down.
The girl and the thief remained behind the rocks. After that the water from the mountain were gathered here forming the lake (Red Lake or The Killer).

The second legend says: On the meadow between the mountains was a sheepfold. The shepherds, seeing a storm was coming, have tried to shelter, but the Killer Mountain crushed down and buried them together with the sheep.
